Spain’s second biggest bank has high expectations for its Turkish acquisition – Business News

Milliyet – Banco Bilbao Vizcaya Argentaria (BBVA), Spain’s second biggest bank and the majority stake holder of Turkey’s Garanti Bank, has high expectations from its acquisition and the Turkish banking market in general.  According to Francisco Gonzales, BBVA Chairman, BBVA’s entry to the Turkish banking sector was a strategic move, considering the country’s huge potential and positive demographics. Addressing the company’s shareholders in a meeting, Gonzales said that Turkey’s rapid growth was a boost to global economy and that BBVA’s decision to invest in the country was a decision wisely taken. Source; IIT
