Galatasaray head coach Gheorghe Hagi filed his resignation on Monday and told Adnan Polat that he wants to reach an agreement concerning the termination of contract but the official refused his resignation, ?Milliyet? informs, being quoted by Mediafax and Realitatea.net. The daily writes that Polat talked with sports agent Victor Becali on Monday. ?Hagi considers himself responsible for the situation the team finds itself in. Instead of parting ways at the end of the season he wants to go down that road now. We want to reach an agreement and terminate this collaboration,? Becali allegedly told Polat. ?With Hagi?s move placing him in a difficult situation, it seems Adnan Polat did not accept the proposal that came before the General Assembly meeting.
Galatasaray officials claimed that Hagi was expected in Istanbul on Tuesday evening and at the training session on Wednesday,? ?Milliyet? writes. The daily also added that 15 players will leave Galatasaray this summer. Of these, Arda Turan and Milan Baros want to leave on their own, the contracts of Kewell, Neill, Gokhan Zan, Aydin, Baris, Ufuk Ceylan and Insua will expire and Ayhan, Mustafa Sarp, Hakan Balta, Robinson Zapata, Bogdan Stancu and Juan Culio will be placed on the list of transfers.
