The only new name in the squad is FC Dinamo?s in-form 21-year-old forward Marius Alexe.
This will be the teams? third meeting. They were paired in qualifying for UEFA EURO 2004, with Romania winning both games.

Through this, UEFA has now agreed terms with all 53 of its member associations over television rights, which will be sold collectively by the governing body of European football.
?We thought it through long and hard and we have got a good deal for ourselves out of it. It is higher than the current valuation of our rights,? said Horne. ?We have gone into this with our eyes wide open. It is a creative idea and we believe it will work.?

Mutu played well in the last legs of Seria A, managing to score an important goal in Fiorentina?s game against AS Roma (final score 2-2), something that probably convinced head coach Raz?van Lucescu to ignore the player?s disciplinary problems.
At the end of the week the Italian press praised Mutu but also Cristian Chivu (Interna?zionale Milano) who was also convened at the national team. ?Fiorentina has to be careful not to lose the Romanian this summer because it lacks another player of his value and it won?t find another either.
